Happy up morning rituals

Morning rituals brighten our days and connect us within ourselves.

Here is one sparkle for your start of the day:

1. Set your natural alarm before going to bed

Set your alarm clock mentally through your visualization of when you want to wake up. think and visualize the time you want to wake up and let go off it while drifting into dreamland. Set an “emergency alarm clock” which wakes you up in case your natural alarm fails. Here is important to choose an relaxed acustic or istrumental morning beat that wakes you up softly but clear.

This is how it works:

  • Think of the number and visualize it for a few breaths.
  • Breathe out and let go of it
  • Go to sleep.
  • The next day you wake up energized and on time!

As through yoga practice our sensitivity of our body highly increases we start to notice what natural alarm clock suits our momentary conditions best. Challenge yourself!

2. Get into Balasana (childspose) while waking up

Once you wake up try to rest in Balasana for the coming 3 minutes: it feels amazing! Restorative Child Pose is there to rejuvenate and bring back your energy. Taking a moment to stretch your arms out long and sit toward your heels is like giving your whole body a great big good morning hug.

3. Oil pulling

Oil Pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic cleansing technique (kriya). The simple technique involves swishing oil around your mouth for 20 minutes, to pull out toxins through your mouth. The idea is that oil is sticky, so when you swish the oil around in your mouth, bacteria get stuck in it and dissolve.

The benefits of oil pulling are numerous. Here are a few:

  • whitens teeth
  • strengthens your gums, teeth, and jaw
  • helps with sensitive teeth
  • prevents cavities
  • helps with skin problems such as acne, eczema, psoriasis
  • cures hangover and migraine
  • clears out sinuses and helps with allergies
  • improves morning breath

You will need preferably an organic cold-pressed oil (sunflower, coconut, sesame). First thing in the morning, take a tablespoonful of oil  and start swishing it around your mouth. Make sure to not swallow the oil! The oil will start to fill up with toxins, so you want to make sure you spit it out. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with water.

4. Hot Ginger-Lemon Tea

Before starting any physical activity give your body a goodie by drinking a home made hot and fresh ginger and lemon tea. It will give you energy and cleanse your body from the inside.

5. Sun-Salutation

Start your day by greeting it consciously.
